A 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man from Phoenix are being kept behind bars on child abandonment charges.
According to provincial police spokeswoman Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, a three-month-old baby girl was found abandoned in Omuramba Road in Milnerton on Monday April 19.
The suspects were arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning, April 21, she said.
The baby is currently with the Department of Social Development.
