The inaugural seafood fest will celebrate all things seafood.
The V&A Waterfront will have its inaugural Makers Landing Seafood Fest at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal on Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2.
A series of panel discussions and demonstrations will look at how chefs, cooks and everyday consumers can shift behaviours to drive for a more sustainable future for our oceans and communities.
Speakers forming part of the panel discussions will include Craig Smith from WWF; Chris Kastern from Abalobi; Buyekezwa Mamaila from the national department of Fisheries, Forestry and Environment and Michael Marriott from the Marine Stewardship Council.
Visitors can also attend a workshop with representatives involved in the seafood sector who will discuss “Simplifying seafood at the V&A Waterfront” on Friday March 31, from 9.30am to 11am.
On Saturday, visitors can learn from the experts through the Sustainable Fish Masterclass with Chef Reuben Riffel and dive deep into the lives of small-scale fisherwomen and decode fishing complexities.
On Sunday, watch Terry Fortune make his famous pickled fish and learn to clean and fillet snoek like a pro with fisherwoman Michelle Singh.
There will also be a fishcake burger making class for the children with the Charming Chef on Sunday April 1, at 11am.

The event runs from 10am to 9pm on Saturday and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday, with live music.
