When it comes to “what men should look like today,” it seems that chest hair has disappeared, but should we really remove it?
Chest hair is back in fashion, leaving aside the trend of a hair-free body. Nowadays, celebrities have made it clear that hairiness is more present than ever. To name a few: Zac Efron, Hugh Jackman, Henry Cavill, are part of the club of gentlemen who are in favor of letting their chest hair grow .
Whether or not to leave it is clearly a decision that is up to us. At the end of the day, it is part of our image and we should feel comfortable with how we look. But let's also be honest, if you are a heterosexual man, women's opinions often play an important role. For this reason, we set out to investigate how relevant it is, and if they really like it.
In order to reach a better conclusion, we decided to take several points of reference. For example, a survey conducted by The Oklahoman in the United States highlights that more than 50% of women prefer chest hair ; as long as it is well trimmed and does not look like a sweater. On the other hand, a study conducted by Remington products on more than 400 women states that 53% of them prefer a man with a hairy torso. Finally, and to reinforce the importance of chest hair for women, a survey conducted by Fit Rated states that, in an average body, the chest (24%) is the second most attractive part of the body; only preceded by the arms with 34%.
So, based on the information obtained, chest hair is the winner among the female sector. Hence our suggestion not to remove it, but to keep in mind its grooming. Just as we pay attention to shaving and wearing a trimmed beard , it is important not to neglect other body hair. In the case of the chest, it is enough to trim it a little with a razor, in addition to using scissors to cut any long hairs that stick out, especially those in the nipple area.
In conclusion, and in case you are still not convinced of the advantage of keeping your chest hair , we will briefly summarize what it means to us.
The barrier between what we traditionally know as masculine and feminine is increasingly breaking down. But to this day, it remains a reality that the presence of body hair is a more accepted characteristic in men. In fact, and hence its importance, it is a point that plays in our favor; and we are not only talking about the beard and moustache, but also about all the hair that runs through our body.
In our opinion, current trends are moving away from a clean-shaven physique, focusing on being proud of the hair that grows on our body. Of course, in those moments when it is going to be shown off (wearing a swimsuit or a shirt that shows off the chest) it should be shown in an aesthetic way, that is, the hair in the area should be well trimmed. In addition to this, and if you are a man who likes to show off his physique and spends a good part of the day exercising it; chest hair, without a doubt, plays in our favor. The reason? It provides greater volume, a simple visual effect, but without fear of being wrong, a worked chest always looks better accompanied by body hair.
The unknowns have been resolved. We should not remove our chest hair. And, indeed, it is a plus that plays in our favor with women.
