Miss SA 2024 Mia Le Roux has been applauded by many on social media who felt that she is representing the community of people living with disabilities.
The 28-year-old le Roux took over the reign from Natasha Joubert on Saturday night at SunBet Arena with the Mowana Crown.
Le Roux, who was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of one, has broken barriers not only for the deaf community but also people living with disabilities.
She has shown how hard work, courage and determination will take you far.
After she was crowned Miss SA 2024, many celebrities took to social media to express how proud they are of her and how much this changes everything for people living with disabilities.
Nandi Madida, a singer and actress took to X to congratulate Le Roux on her win:
“My daughter who is on the autistic spectrum just witnessed Mia winning, what a moment that she will never forget. Wow! These onions! Inclusivity is beautiful! Congrats to all the contestants.”

Chantel Hoffman, a dj and one of the contestants who made it to Miss SA 2020 Top 50 took to instagram to congratulate Le Roux.
“As a mom of a daughter on the spectrum, watching Mia Le Roux being crowned our Miss SA was iconic, not only for our country, but for all of us who knows how painful it is to watch our own not only suffer with a disability but then also inclusion,” she said.
The Carel du Toit centre, is a special school that caters for children who have a hearing loss and have cochlear implants or hearing aids, congratulated Le Roux in a Facebook post for winning the Miss SA title.
“We are immensely proud of Mia Le Roux, an alumna of Carol du Toit who have been crowned the NEW Miss South Africa.
“Congratulations Mia, all of us were rooting for you and will continue to cheer you on every step of the way”
X users also congratulated Le Roux.
