Bloubergrant Pre-primary school took a knock in 2020 when parents removed their children from the school due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bloubergrant Pre-Primary School could close if pupil numbers continue to dwindle.
Principal Valerie Tomlinson says the school took a knock this year when several parents removed their children because of Covid-19.
The school, which is in Curlewis Road, needs just under 100 children to cover costs, according to Ms Tomlinson, but there are only 66.
Teachers had also taken a 30% salary cut, she said.
“We’ve gone extensively into advertising the school on social media, updating the website and handing out flyers. If we don’t have enough kids, the school won’t survive,” she said.
The school was one of the first to open in the area in 1987 with the help of a group of mothers who fund-raised to have it built.
Principal Tomlinson calls the school a “hidden gem”.
