Vaccine jabs at Bayside

Staff Reporter|Published

Several Cape Town residents gathered at Bayside Mall to get vaccine shots last week Wednesday June 2. Karen Watkins of Woodstock said she queued for two hours to get her shot. “It literally is a pinprick. The injection site was sore for about two days but otherwise, it was fine. I've got an appointment card to have the second shot in 42 days, hopefully, closer to home,” she said.

Solly Essop, 66, of Goodwood also got his shot at Dischem, Bayside Mall. He said: "I did not expect such a long line of people that came for the jab which resulted in the whole process taking about 2.5 hours. Except for a few days of a sore arm, the Covid-19 injection is really no different from a flu vaccination. Otherwise, all went well.”
