Staff Reporter|Published

People from all over joined the clean-up at Milnerton Lagoon Beach on Saturday.

Zoe Prinsloo,19, of Richwood, is the founder of the Save A Fishie organisation, and she challenged her community to be part of her Mandela Day clean-up that collected 670 bags of litter.

The clean-up was held over several days last week ahead of Mandela Day on Sunday July 18.

Ms Prinsloo challenged the public to clean up their beaches, parks and streets and post pictures on the Save A Fishie Facebook page, using the hashtag #670bags4Madiba!

Save A Fishie then held a beach clean-up at Milnerton Lagoon Beach on Saturday, and volunteers collected 319kg of waste, including three tyres and a shopping trolley, and filled 49 garbage bags.
