Mitchell’s Plain entrepreneurs attend an information session.
Mitchell’s Plain entrepreneurs attended an information session to help built their business savvy at West Reach Assembly of God church, in Silversands Avenue Portland, on Thursday August 25.
The session was hosted by The Gordon Institute of Business Science’s entrepreneurship development academy which is recruiting 120 South African entrepreneurs for a free six-month Walmart Foundation Expand Your Biz programme next month.
The programme will focus on business and entrepreneurial competency training by focusing on core skills, including marketing and sales; small business finance; product differentiation, innovation and technology; and networking and is valued at R30 000.
It is for eligible business owners and businesses from Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha to help contribute to the local business ecosystem.
Peer-to-peer coaching and engagement have been built into the programme to bolster learning and ensure programme sustainability through a strengthened entrepreneurial network.
Group coaching will provide further opportunities to network with other participants in the programme and build linkages that can support participant growth and development.
