A 23-year-old man has been arrested but the cause of the incident is still unknown.
Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said Ms Rooi sustained a gunshot wound to her face. “The motive for the attack is yet to be established. We can confirm that a 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening and appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday August 29.”
Family member Natasha Rooi said when they arrived at the Retreat Community Health Centre they were informed by medical staff that her aunt had died.
