SA Navy Festival drops anchor next month

Staff Reporter|Published 7 months ago

The South African Navy Festival will take place from Friday October 4 till Sunday October 6 in Simon’s Town, giving the public a chance to visit the navy dockyard. In previous years, the festival has attracted 60 000 to 100 000 people over the three-day period. Ships and submarines will be open to the public, including various Defence Force exhibits. There will be indoor and outdoor demonstrations for the duration of the festival. These include precision drill demonstrations, firefighting, dog shows and “gun-runs” as well as performances by the SA Navy band. There will be a food court, a children’s play area and a variety of vendors. For more information, call 021 787 4696. Picture: Brenton Geach
