Scholar transport operators can get free vehicle checks at the Gene Louw Traffic College in Brackenfell from 8.30am to 3pm tomorrow, Tuesday October 15.
This is part of a drive to ensure vehicles transporting school pupils meet safety standards, says the provincial Department of Mobility
The inspections will cover tyres, brakes, lights, suspension, CV joints, electrical systems, exhausts, wipers and licence discs.
“Let us work together to uphold the highest safety standards,” said Mobility MEC, Isaac Sileku.
This comes after the provincial government and the Road Accident Fund were due to hold a defensive driving workshop for scholar transport drivers at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre from Monday to Wednesday this week.
For more information on the safety checks, contact the traffic college at 021 983 1500.
