THE SOUTH African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the payment dates for March 2025 social grants, ensuring that beneficiaries can plan accordingly.
To ensure a smooth process and reduce congestion, payments will be made in phases as follows:
📅 Tuesday, 4 March 2025 – Older Persons Grants, including all grants linked to older persons.
📅 Wednesday, 5 March 2025 – Disability Grants, including all grants linked to disability grants.
📅 Thursday, 6 March 2025 – All Other Grants, including Child Support, Foster Care, and Care Dependency Grants.
Sassa has reminded beneficiaries that there is no need to withdraw all funds on the first payment day. Grant money remains available in accounts and can be withdrawn at a later stage, throughout the month, at ATMs, retailers, and Postbank branches.
Sassa Gold Card Swap Deadline
Sassa and Postbank have also issued a reminder to social grant recipients who have not yet transitioned from the old gold Sassa cards to the new Postbank black cards. The deadline for the swap has been pushed from February 28 to March 20, 2025, giving beneficiaries additional time to update their cards.
Those who still need to replace their cards can find their nearest Postbank card replacement site by dialling 120355# on a mobile phone.
