AFGEVAT: Gang gun stash seized in Stikland

THE Fancy Boys gang has been dealt a moerse blow as clever cops raided a gun store and seized various high-calibre weapons which were allegedly destined for gang wars on the Cape Flats.
According to a Daily Voice source, a high-ranking member of the gang which has been embroiled in hostile takeovers in various communities got a helse skrik when cops pounced on him in Bellville South on Monday night.
The source explains the dik ding from Mitchells Plain arrived at a storage unit allegedly to collect stock for the gang when eagle-eyed cops kept a close eye on him.
The insider says: ‘He arrived in a Golf 7 GTI and was with his motjie. The Fancy Boys seem to have a lot of ammunition and guns and every area where they are bymekaar with gang wars they just seem to have a klomp guns and now we know why.
"He arrived there lekker confident and was busy loading when the officers caught him red-handed inside the storage unit surrounded by guns and Mandrax pille. Hy het lekker geskrik."
It is believed the guns were to be transported to Lentegeur.
The source says as cops started the seizure, they uncovered assault rifles, over 2000 rounds of ammunition and even grenades.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa, says the operation was carried out by a multi-disciplinary team, comprising of the Anti-Gang Unit investigators and the Crime Intelligence Counter Gangs and Narcotics Unit which saw cops raid storage units in Bellville South and Stikland.
Potelwa reports: "The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of observing the movements of suspects resulted in the discovery.
"At the first location in Bellville South officers found three AK-47 rifles, one R5 rifle, one assault rifle, 12 pistols, three Uzzis, four shotguns, two revolvers, 50 000 Mandrax tablets, six M26 grenades and a large quantity of an assortment of rounds of ammunition.
"The operation took the team later in the evening to another storage facility in Stikland where a package containing two kilograms of heroin was confiscated."
Cops busted the 47-year-old man and his 41-year-old motjie and they are set to appear in court soon on charges of illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and drugs as well as the possession of illegal explosives.
