KIMBERLEY – The Kagisho police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 57-year-old Maureen Makhunga, who has been missing since December 15, 2024.
Makhunga, a resident of Nobengula Road in Vergenoeg, Galeshewe, was last seen when she went to the Kimberley Information Centre to book a bus ticket.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane, she had informed her daughter that she was travelling to visit her sister-in-law in the Eastern Cape.
However, concerns grew when her phone remained switched off, and her family later confirmed that she never arrived at her intended destination.
Authorities have urged anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward. Detective Sergeant Alec Filander of the Kagisho SAPS can be reached at 071 685 9625, or tip-offs can be made via the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or through the MySAPS app.
Sergeant Shemane also reminded the public that there is no waiting period required to report a missing person.
