Mystery surrounds the murder of a 55-year-old Mauritian man, identified as Nadeem Bissessur, who was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Emporium Shopping Centre in Sandown Road, Parklands, on Saturday, March 22.
Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler said police were called to the scene just after noon when they discovered the body of Mr Bissessur in the driver's seat of a black Lexus, riddled with bullets.
Captain Chandler asked the public to refrain from posting pictures of the incident on social media.
She said police are working around the clock to apprehend the suspects responsible for the brazen attack in broad daylight, which has left many confused and outraged.
A woman who works at Foodlovers Market at the Emporium Shopping Centre, who did not wish to be named, said she was in the shop when she heard the gunshots going off.
Some people rushed to the scene while the store's staff tried to calm customers who were waiting in the queue.
Table view community police forum did not respond to Tabletalk’s questions about the incident and concerns about crime in the area.
