A 30-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing a car guard in Bloubergstrand has been released on R5 000 bail, with his case postponed to Wednesday, November 26, at the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court, according to Table View police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler.

The suspect was arrested after a car guard was fatally stabbed near Marine Circle in Bloubergstrand on Sunday, August 31.

Police officers on patrol noticed a crowd gathering in the area and found an unidentified man lying unresponsive with a stab wound beneath his arm. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene, she said.

Captain Chandler said detectives obtained video footage from a nearby property, which led to the identification of two suspects.

"A man, 30, and a woman, 24, were traced to a Cape Town dwelling and arrested shortly before midday on Sunday, August 31."

"Both were initially charged with murder, but the woman was released before court proceedings. The man remains the sole accused in the case and is due back in court in late November," she said.
