More than 60 children gathered at Vasco Park in Brooklyn last week for Heritage Day, commemorated on Wednesday, September 24. A Brooklyn-based non-profit organisation, Helping Hands, founded by community activist Fay Vogel, was the driving force behind the event. She brought together various businesses and community members who sponsored the celebration, including Shadrack Mhango, Kamile Abbas, Imam Hossain, Sammy Mothala, and Sheldon Goslett.
