Table View police investigate murder

Table View police are investigating a case of murder after an armed response officer discovered the body of a 75-year-old man at a home in Sceptre Crescent, Flamingo Vlei, on Wednesday evening, November 19.

Table View police Captain Adriana Chandler said the officer had been responding to a wellness check when he arrived at the property and received no answer at the door.

“He noticed a sliding door ajar and called out for the homeowner, but there was no response. After entering the house, he found the man in a bedroom with his hands and feet bound. He was declared dead at the scene,” she said.

She said that the house was in a state of disarray, and all relevant role-players were summoned to process the scene.

Tabletalk contacted several residents and neighbourhood watch groups about safety concerns. Some said they had only heard about the murder from us, while others reported that they did not have enough information and were shocked by the incident.
