A Table View non-profit has helped make this festive season brighter for hundreds of children and families across local informal settlements.

TLC Outreach Projects headed out to the Wolverivier informal settlement on Wednesday, December 10, to bring the Christmas cheer to 400 children who received a meal, party packs, and a Santa gift box loaded with toiletries, stationery, and festive treats.

TLC founder, Colleen Pietersen, thanked her community and said that the generosity from schools, businesses, and volunteers made this all possible.

During the course of last week, TLC’s team hosted a Christmas party for the children of various informal settlements and street children in and around Table View, serving lunch and handing out treats and presents.

Pupils of Sunningdale Primary School donated 100 Santa gifts, another business added a further 30 Santa gifts, while a Table View retailer donated gifts and food for a Christmas party for families living in the Radar Bush informal settlement on Friday, December 5.

Kensio House School also joined the drive, donating 60 Santa boxes.

TLC’s sponsor, West Coast Network (WCN), provided significant financial support towards Christmas parties and gifts for more than 567 children from surrounding informal communities.

The organisation said the gathering reflected the true spirit of Christmas - community, compassion, and connection.

Ms Pietersen said the non-profit is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of people in the community and surrounding areas.

"Throughout the year, we work tirelessly to provide educational and preventative outreach programmes, including initiatives aimed at preventing gender-based violence. It's rewarding to see our efforts come to fruition, especially during the holiday season," she said.

TLC Outreach Projects wished the community Christmas blessings and thanked everyone who helped bring joy to children and families this holiday season.
