A love of reading has brought Table View seniors together in a new way, with the launch of a book club that promises lively discussions and literary discoveries.
The Living Legends Table View Seniors Club has added the book club to its list of activities, offering members an opportunity to share their favorite reads and connect over stories.
The club meets at the Liebrandt Van Niekerk Hall in South Road, Table View, on the first Wednesday of each month at 11am, with the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 4.
Well-known Fine Music Radio Book Choice reviewer Beryl Eichenberger said participants could browse and borrow from a wide selection of donated books.
The format would be informal and friendly.
"Simply come along prepared to talk about what you've been reading, and enjoy a lively discussion over a cup of tea or coffee," she said.
Ms Eichenberger will also be facilitating conversations to encourage engagement.
Any senior citizen in the community is welcome to join, as the book club is open to the public.
For more information on the book club, email hipzone@mweb.co.za or call 082 490 6652.
The club meets at the Liebrandt Van Niekerk hall every last Wednesday of the month from 10am until 1pm. Their next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 25. Seniors interested in becoming a member can call Betz on 073 430 9281 or email tableviewseniorsclub@gmail.com.
