With a theme of Summer Lovin’, the recent Milnerton Players Milly’s Awards were a bright and summery occasion celebrating the productions of 2015.
Music from the 1960s and 1970s set the scene, and the audience dressed in bright and beachy outfits, turning a few heads as they arrived.
Tension ran high prior to the announcement of the winners of the 2015 season, which saw an unprecedented six productions.
It was a close contest with the quirky 39 Steps walking off with five awards, including Best Director: Wayne Hendricks and Best Actress: Fiona Tanner.
The fast-paced Noises Off scooped four awards, including Best Production: Yvonne Copley, Best Supporting Actress: Lesley Boxall and Best Supporting Actor: Mark Wilkes.
Best Actor went to James King for his performance in Andy Mcpherson’s production, God of Carnage.
With entertainment supplied by local band Definition and soloists Bruce and Melissa Sanderson, the evening was a summer blast enjoyed by all. Heading into the 2016 season, booking opens shortly for Curl up and Dye, which runs from Friday March 4 to Friday March 18.
