Barbara Grenfell Fairhead launched her latest book, The River People, at Cavendish Exclusive Books on Tuesday July 30. The book is a revelation of poetry, art including wood sculptures and beadworks, songs, interactive teachings, quotations, counsel, stories and reflections. Work that has no meaning but came to the author during quiet moments. The author said the book was inspired by a dream in 1988 when was walking in the Okavango desert. Three people approached her, to meet her, to tell her something. Her feet felt like lead. They did not reach each other.
The Muizenberg author is an artist, writer, poet and lyricist.
