Edge Church in Edgemead will run its annual holiday club over the mid-year school break packed with activities tailored to different age groups.
Last year, 1 450 children attended the holiday club with 430 volunteers.
Activities have been tailored for each age group, including singing, dancing, drama, Bible storytime, arts and crafts, group games and snack time.
“The holiday club has been around for over 30 years and it’s amazing to see the impact it has had on the lives of the children who attend and the many volunteers who serve during the week,” said Ryan Warner, youth pastor at Edge Church.
The programme is run across three venues where everyone is welcome, starting at Edgemead Primary School for a week until Friday July 1, and then at Edge Church’s Melkbos campus and the Summer Greens Community Hall the following week, from Monday July 4 until Friday July 8.
The two themes for this year are “Blast Off” and “Infinity”.
“Blast Off’“ will run in the mornings, from 9am to 12.30pm for ages three and up until Grade 3, and “Infinity” will run from 6pm to 8.30pm, for Grade 4 up until Grade 7. The “Blast Off” session in Summer Greens will run from 9.30am to 1pm.
Children are placed into groups with children of their own age, and each group has a dedicated group leader throughout the week.
There is no cost to attend, but parents are welcome to make a donation of R40 a child a day.
