Don’t stop chasing your goal just because you don’t have all the logistics figured out, says Bloubergstrand wellness blogger and entrepreneur Maxine Schuiling.
She was one of six speakers at a special Women’s Day event at Den Anker restaurant, at the V&A Waterfront on Saturday August 10.
The 23-year-old chemistry graduate is the founder of Macro Mixes, which sells high-protein, sugar- and gluten-free porridges and baking premixes online.
She said her passion is food and recipes and admitted not knowing the first thing about business when she started.
“Don’t let not knowing everything about the logistics stop you,” she told the women at the event. “Team up, ask for help and together you can do amazing things.”
Some of Ms Schuiling’s whole-food products were served at the event. “It’s been so inspiring to work alongside some incredible women and learning from them,” she said.
“I’m passionate about nutrition and the power of a whole-food balanced diet.
“I believe that that helps people live their best lives and I centre my recipes around this and try to make healthy eating fun, interesting and easy,” she said.
She also hosts a health podcast where she speaks to industry experts.
