Landi Biesenbach, 43, who went missing on Tuesday October 25 in Parklands, has been found.
Originally from Johannesburg, Ms Biesenbach had been staying in Parklands before disappearing.
At the time of her disappearance, Ms Biesenbach was wearing a long, grey jersey and black Vans sneakers.
Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler said Ms Biesenbach was at a place of safety and her family had been informed.
“Circumstances on her disappearance and subsequent recovery as well as reasons why she ran away are under investigation by another specialised unit and is at a sensitive stage,” said Captain Chandler.
Lu-Anne Dodgen, the financial director of Table View Angels, a non-profit organisation for distressed people, has welcomed the news.
Ms Dodgen said the organisation – which had helped with the search for Ms Biesenbach – was offering counselling to her.
“I did not know Landi for very long, but she has endured a lot of trauma and struggles in her life. She is well educated and a strong person in general,” she said.
Ms Dodgen said she was grateful and relieved that Ms Biesenbach had been found.
“I have literally had sleepless nights and have personally gone to every place she was ever possibility spotted,” she said.
