A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with murder.
Police have arrested a woman, 42, and an 18-year-old man on murder charges in Site 5, following a fatal stabbing.
According to Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana
Chandler, the body of Thembani Gumata was brought to the Dunoon clinic on Sunday August 30. He had been stabbed several times.
Police were informed that Mr Gumata had been killed in Site 5.
Further investigation had led to the arrest, on Thursday September 3, of the two suspects who had allegedly stabbed Mr Gumata in an argument over money, Captain Chandler said.
In another incident, police arrested two people accused of robbing a man in Bothasig.
According to Bothasig police spokesman Warrant Officer Jacques Mostert, the victim was robbed at gunpoint of his cellphone by a man and woman on Saturday August 22, at 9am.
The 32-year-old man was arrested on the same day at a residence in Parow while the 24-year-old woman was arrested later after she was allegedly found hiding in the ceiling of a residence in Bothasig.
A cellphone, allegedly belonging to the victim, and gun were found in the woman’s possession.
