A woman, believed to be in her late 30s, was killed on Friday morning, February 17, when she was knocked over by a bakkie on the N7 opposite Dunoon.
According to ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene to find the body of the woman lying in the left-hand lane of the road. The bakkie was parked a short distance away.
Mr Meiring said paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries to her face and head.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the woman and she was declared dead on the scene.”
The driver of the bakkie escaped injury.
