R1 million in tik was seized and a suspected drug dealer arrested during a joint operation by SAPS and Metro police in Parklands.
According to Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler, the man was arrested at a home in Parklands, on Wednesday January 20, where police found the tik and more than R224 000 in cash.
According to the City’s metro police spokeswoman Ruth Solomon, the drugs found at the residence weighed between 6kg and 8kg. The 37-year-old suspect was charged with dealing in drugs and appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Friday January 22.
In a separate incident, a woman was arrested in Parklands for illegally selling alcohol.
Captain Chandler said a tip-off led officers to a house, on Friday January 22, where they confiscated beers, ciders, wine and over R6 000 cash. The 34-year-old woman was set to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday January 25.
