Three men accused of trying to rob a man in Parklands have been arrested, say police.
The 42-year-old man had been walking to a shop at about 7pm on Wednesday September 14 while using his cellphone to send messages to his family, said Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler.
Two men approached him and one of them grabbed his phone, but the man grabbed it back and ran from the men. He turned back and saw one of the would-be muggers lifting his shirt and reaching for what appeared to be a gun before both men climbed into a car waiting nearby.
The man flagged down a police patrol van which then pursued and stopped a car fitting the description provided by the man.
Officers searched the car and found two imitation guns with blanks.
The man identified the two men who had tried to rob him and they were arrested along with the driver, said Captain Chandler.
The suspects, aged 27, 30, 32, have all been charged with attempted robbery.
