The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that social grant payments for August have been brought forward and will start today, Wednesday July 27, due to local government elections.
The payment at pay points will run from July 27 to Friday July 29.
There will be no payment at pay points from Monday August 1 to Wednesday August 3 due to local government elections.
Payment at pay points will resume on Thursday August 4 until the last payment date.
The money will be available without interruption as from today, July 27, to Thursday August 25 for beneficiaries using other payment channels such as ATMs and stores.
