Table View police station’s Captain Lizette Pietersen is off to the southern suburbs in the next phase of her police career.
Captain Pietersen has accepted a position at Mowbray police station as the Visible Policing Commander as of Thursday January 2.
She is a familiar face to residents, certifying documents and assisting with police clearance certificates, and said a sad goodbye to her colleagues at Table View police station last Friday, December 13.
Captain Pietersen, who got promoted to the rank of captain on December 3, has spent 22 years in the police service after completing her training at Pretoria Police College in 2002.
Captain Pietersen thanked her colleagues for “everything” they had been to her over the years and said she will miss all of them.
“I have learned a lot from each and every one and I will forever be grateful,” she said.
Table View police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler said Captain Pietersen worked as a field training officer, responsible for training students, and assisted the community with police clearance certificates for many years and had done so “diligently and professionally”.
Station Commander Colonel Tjikamba Mbangu and the management at the station have expressed their gratitude to Captain Pietersen for her dedication and commitment to her duties as a police officer.
“She has a vivacious personality, with an infectious laugh. She is always courteous, respectful and professional. She will be dearly missed after spending 22 years with her ‘police family’ at Table View,” said Colonel Mbangu.
