Isabella Stermin was the only girl competing out of Zone 7. She managed to complete the SA Champs with the overall ranking of 5th in 10 and under girls in the country.
A week ago the Zone 7 BMX club riders travelled to Johannesburg for the final round of the SA Cup and SA Champs.
The final round of SA champs is where riders compete for their year-end ranking.
All in all Zone 7 BMX were satisfied with the showing of the club in their first year of competition and are looking forward to hosting the first round of SA Champs in April next year.
Mason Hendry, in his first year of racing, finished as the number 1 novice in the country and 2nd overall under-6 boy for the year.Cruz Hendry raced in a stacked gate and had to qualify for the final. Cruz managed to claw his way back after a poor start to finish with the SA4 plate in the age 9 boys’ category.Lucas Hugill had a tough category but still managed to come out of the event with the SA7 plate in the age 11 boys’ category.Dylan Wiggill rode exceptionally well all weekend and finished with the SA3 plate in the 11 boys.
