Nippers battle it out on sand and surf

Milnerton’s Ethan Morrison all smiles after winning the under-9 beach sprints at Sunday’s Cape Town district Nipper competition, at Fish Hoek Beach.

Youngsters representing Milnerton and Big Bay Surf lifesaving clubs were among the more than 350 from clubs across the city who took part in the Lifesaving Cape Town district nipper championship, at Fish Hoek Beach, at the weekend.

Milnerton Surf Lifesaving Club’s Leela Heyns and Grace Buddle finished first and fifth in the girls’ under-9 body board race.
Milnerton Surf Lifesaving Club’s Callum Faulkner won gold in the boys’ under-13 100m obstacle and came third in the 100m Rescue Medley at the Western Cape Stillwater Championships held at Bellville swimming pool on Saturday January 27. Callum finished third overall in his age group and the top point scorer.
