Union-Milnerton's Super League A campaign has been challenging this season and to add to their woes, SK Walmers snatched victory from them in a dramatic game at Theo Marais Park over the weekend.
On paper, the match appeared to favour Uni-Mil, but as the game unfolded, it became evident that results aren't determined by statistics alone.
The loss was particularly heartbreaking for Uni-Mil, as it came in the dying moments of the game. They were trailing by a point with three minutes remaining, a single converted penalty looking likely to secure their victory at that stage.

Despite being at home where they have historically been strong, they just couldn't secure the win. The final scoreline of 40–31 doesn't fully capture the closeness of the encounter.
In the last three minutes, SK Walmers scored 10 unanswered points, turning a tight match into a decisive victory.
Before this match, Uni-Mil had shown promise, with their sole win of the season coming in the opening game against Maties by a significant margin.
This early success led many to believe they would be strong contenders throughout the season. However, subsequent matches have not gone their way, leaving them with only one win in five outings, a situation unfamiliar to a team of their calibre.

Uni-Mil boasts a squad with enough talent to be considered heavyweights in the division, alongside teams like Durbanville-Bellville, Hamilton and the student sides, UCT and Stellenbosch.
Their performance this season, however, has not reflected their potential. The upcoming match against Durbanville-Bellville, a team yet to face defeat this season, presents another formidable challenge.
