Bayhill results: Win for Valhalla while Grassy Park, Greenwood out of chase

Phase five of the Bayhill Premier Cup play-offs brought a mix of celebrations and upsets in Solo Street, Retreat, this past weekend.

Valhalla United, Manenberg Sporting Academy and Maties FC got some of the biggest score lines.

Santos, Grassy Park United and Greenwood Athletic’s hopes of lifting the under-19 trophy in 2025 were dashed as they fell out of the race.

Valhalla United put five unanswered goals past Avendale Athletico to mark their presence in phase five.

It was, however, not the biggest win of the weekend, as Maties FC won 6-0 over Origan Spurs.

Coach Damian Prince’s Antalyaspor recorded another big win with a 5-1 thumping of Bishop Lavis.

Jomo’s Power beat Cedar Park 1-0. Young Bafana won 4-0 over FC Cafda.

Despite a booking to one of the officials, Seaside Spurs beat Robinvale Spurs 2-1 on the main field.

Hellenic, on the other hand, won 6-5 on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Ikapa Sporting, after some late drama to equalise.

Ulana Soccer Academy scored one of the fastest goals in the play-offs, in less than one minute, to help beat SSS Academy 4-2.

Hout Bay United Football Community had to come back from one-nil down to win 3-2 against a talented Meadowridge side organised by coach Chris Van Wyk.

Premier United beat United Aces from Gugulethu 1-0. Eagles Performance Academy won 2-0 over Clover FC.

Blue Down Spurs beat Greenwood Athletic 2-0. JL Zwane won 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Bellville United. Valencia Sports Academy lost 2-0 to Ubuntu Football Academy.

Du Noon Youth won 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw against United FC. Project Playground (PPG) were knocked out 0-1 by Good Hope FC. Vasco Da Gama won by 1-0 against District Six FC.

Santos lost 2-1 to Nyanga’s Eyethu FC. Stanturf United put three unanswered goals past Grassy Park United.

Lavender Hill lost 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw to Manenberg Sporting Academy. Tafelzucht triumphed by 2-1 over Wesley United AFC. Umtata United beat Clarewood JPM 3-2.

Bellstar United beat Rebels 3-1. Rygersdal won 3-0 against Willow Stars.
