Milnerton Lions Club hosted 50 children from Joe Slovo and Phoenix for a Youth Day celebration at their clubhouse in Milnerton Ridge on Monday, June 16. The kids spent the morning learning about fire safety, planting Spekboom, painting pet rocks and inspirational canvasses, playing soccer and having a boerewors braai for lunch. Each child was given a hand-knitted beanie and sent home with their plants and artwork. The Lions Club representatives said they were pleased to be able to make the children's day brighter and to instill some vital life lessons into these future leaders.
