Thank you for sharing our story on the wonderful support we received for our “Help Holly Talk” BackaBuddy campaign (“Community steps in to help Holly have her say,” Tabletalk, July 21).
It was a truly humbling experience to see how so many people in the Table View and Edgemead communities reached into their pockets to help my three-year-old niece, and then the support from BackaBuddy, sharing Holly’s story and broadening the net of supporters, pushed the campaign to reach our goal within a week.
Once the story was published in Tabletalk, we were blessed again from wonderful residents who read the story and called Tabletalk to get my number so that cash donations could be given. My accountant, who saw the story, was reminded of the challenges faced and has offered to assist my sister and brother-in-law with their tax claims for Holly.
My sister has already purchased the EyeGaze PC device and software, and they are in the process of procuring the hardware and brackets, so we excitedly await Holly’s “first words”.
